This year’s Acrex, 2014 was held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on 27th Feb – 1st March by moving towards being the largest exhibition on Air Conditioning, Ventilation, Refrigeration and Building Services. The foot fall for this year’s was a exuberating 30,000 from all across the world. Organized by the Indian Society for Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) and managed by Nuerenberg Messe India. It was also supported by reputed organizations like ASHRAE UNEP, REVA, KRAIA, AHRI, and CAR besides Honorable Indian Ministry of New & Renewable Energy.
Participation from over 25 Countries and more than 400 Exhibitors made it a successful event. First time ever in India any Exhibition has taken an initiative to reduce the Carbon Footprint by being a Carbon Neutral exhibition. By planting over 10,000 trees across the country the exhibitors took a leap to reduce the carbon footprint and also implementing the three R’s Reduce, Reuse & Recycle. A small initiative to develop a village in Andhra Pradesh named Talupula was jointly taken by ISHRAE & Acrex, 2014 by planting a wide range of fruit bearing plants at the farmers land, majority of which were underprivileged tribal’s. ISHRAE & Sankalptaru also developed water harvesting pits along with the farmers to ensure continued upkeep of the planted trees. This model is aiming at nurturing trees with a very healthy survival rate.
Acrex, 2014 was a huge opportunity for the growth of the businesses into the field of Ventilation, Heating & Refrigeration & Air Conditioning. This exhibition gave an opportunity to inform the clients, architects, consultants and other stakeholder regarding the new products and services provided in the country to reduce energy consumption and also to improve quality of the buildings. Other than the business opportunities provided the Acrex, 2014 also organized workshops on the topics like Cool Thermal Energy Storage in the Era of Sustainability, Energy Security – Renewable or Hydrocarbons, Presentations, Panel Discussions, Meetings etc. These activities aimed on the information spread and addressing the important topics of the current world. This exhibition expanded new business opportunities for all industry players in the HVAC & R sector. With support from various organizations and active participation from partners, exhibitors and visitors from all across the world the exhibition become a huge success and announced its 2015 event to be held at Bangalore on 26th Feb – 28th Feb, 2015.
Acrex Awards for Excellence was given for the four categories: Innovation, Energy Saving, Green Product & Indoor Air Quality. The award for Innovation was given to Emerson Network Power (India) Pvt. Ltd., the award for Energy Saving was given to Kirloskar Brothers Limited, the Green product award was bagged by Caire Consult and the Indoor Air Quality award was awarded to Caire Consult again. The award also had Runners up and Special Mention position which was won by number of other companies. Acrex, 2014 was summed up being an exhibition which had a spoonful for all the stakeholders and lived up to the expectation of all and moreover over performed.
