London, and southeast England in general, is the busiest region for the construction industry in Britain so it’s no surprise many trade shows are attracted to the area. London Build 2015 is a new show but a very exciting one, taking place at The O2, London on the 18th and 19th of June. With massive foreign investment and annual building contracts worth over £20 billion up for grabs nobody can afford to overlook London, and this expo is a great opportunity to look at what’s going on and start staking out your space in the market.
With London’s prominence it’s no surprise that the exhibitor list for London Build includes plenty of big names, but the real attraction of this event is the state of the art products that will be there. London’s known for innovative buildings and London Build showcases the materials that make them possible. Roofs, water systems and finishes are just some of what’s lined up, and there will also be no shortage of plant and tools.
A major part of the value of trade exhibitions is the chance to talk to professional bodies, network with other contractors and start building the contacts that make it easier to find and work on the best jobs. Organisations that will be at London Build include the London Chamber of Commerce, CPD Certification Service and Octain Recruitment. London Build offers an unbeatable entry to the London construction market; find out what’s happening, what you can offer and who to talk to, all under one roof.
As well as the exhibition floor there’s a busy programme of talks and workshops planned. Speakers are scheduled from the Greater London Authority, Balfour Beatty, KPMG and Transport for London, among many others. CPD-accredited workshops cover essentials including safety and building regulations as well as technologies like solar panels, sustainable finishes and networked buildings. London has plenty of old buildings as well as new ones, so there will be workshops on restoring structures and materials – refurbishment is a large and growing sector, and not one to be overlooked.
On the first evening there’s an awards ceremony with a gala dinner and live entertainment, including a comedy act. This is the premier networking opportunity and the event is worth attending for that alone. It’s also unbeatable value – entry to London Build is free, and you can register online at the event website. If you want to build in London then London Build should be at the top of your list.
