Caterpillar Inc. & HUSCO International executives lead industry managing committee
Philip McCluskey, System Product Manager for Caterpillar Inc., and Bob Mortensen, Chief Operating Officer for HUSCO International, have been named co-chairs of the 2017 IFPE exposition and will lead the triennial show’s management committee. IFPE is industry-led by volunteer business executives to ensure the greatest value for attendees, exhibitors, and all show participants.
The next IFPE will be held March 7-11, 2017 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, USA. The show is the leading international exposition and technical conference dedicated to the integration of fluid power with other technologies for power transmission and motion control applications.
IFPE is co-located with the CONEXPO-CON/AGG exposition for the construction industries. The 2014 IFPE and CONEXPO-CON/AGG, held in March, saw record exhibit and education numbers and nearly 130,000 registered attendees, including 24-percent international.
McCluskey and Mortensen served as vice chairs of the 2014 IFPE managing committee.

IFPE co-chairs have strong industry background
Bob Mortensen joined HUSCO International in 2001 and currently serves as Chief Operating Officer, with responsibility for HUSCO’s Off-Highway Division. In this capacity, he leads businesses located in North America, China, India and the United Kingdom.
Prior to joining HUSCO, Mortensen has accumulated over 15 years of engineering, operations and leadership experience with Briggs & Stratton, SSI Controls and Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation.
Mortensen has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.B.A. from Marquette University. He is currently serving in board positions for the National Fluid Power Association, the United Way of Waukesha (WI) County and is on the Steering Committee for the Waukesha County Manufacturing Alliance.
Dr. Philip McCluskey joined Caterpillar in 1998 and is System Product Manager responsible for worldwide Implement and Steering Systems business, including technical strategy, design, sourcing, quality, profitability, and asset management.
He previously was Product Portfolio Director of Caterpillar Brasil Ltda. (CBL), managing new product introduction, engineering, and production planning, and has also served as Manager of Advanced Materials Technology at Caterpillar’s Technology & Solutions Division, and as a Research Scientist with United Technologies Corporation.
He has a B.S. and Ph.D. in Ceramic Science from Alfred University, and is a graduate of the Wharton Advanced Management Program. He has 15 patents, authored numerous publications, and serves as an adjunct professor of engineering at the University of Arkansas – Fayetteville, and on the board of the National Fluid Power Association.
