NordBau 2016: Brick and increased requirements for construction are the key topics

Neumünster: Bricks are becoming more important in the renovation and construction of facades. NordBau is dedicating a special topic to this building material at this year’s exhibition (September 7 – 11, 2016). In addition to the latest technology trends, Northern Europe’s largest compact exhibition for construction offers an extensive range of information and training as well as places the increased demands of foremen and site managers at the forefront.
The Premier of the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein Thorsten Albig has confirmed his attendance for the opening of the exhibition as in the previous year.
This year, the NordBau will focus on the changed areas of work and responsibility for foremen and site managers among other things. As part of the exhibition, the Construction Industry Association, Umwelt- und Maschinentechnik e.V (Environment and Machine Technology Association), the accident insurance company Unfallkasse Nord, Employer’s Liability Insurance Association for the Building Trade will provide information about the increased requirements in the areas of service and training in the form of a special topic. This special topic offers events as well as training on the subject. “The training opportunities for the construction industry as well as the cooperation with the universities are of great significance to us. From the approximately 40 professional conferences, two-thirds of our events are recognised as continuing education courses from the Chamber of Architects and Engineers,” said exhibition director Wolfgerd Jansch.
Another focus of the NordBau 2016 is the building material brick. With the classification of Hamburg’s Speicherstadt as UNESCO World Heritage Site last year, the brick construction method has gained international attention. Brick is becoming more popular for renovations and new construction. The NordBau in cooperation with the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Zweischalige Wand im Bundesverband der deutschen Ziegelindustrie (Association of cavity wall in the Federal Association of the German Brick industry) is responding to this trend with a special show. The exhibition has been an important platform for the international brick industry for many years.
Additional programme highlights for the upcoming NordBau include the annual painter and varnisher competition, training of the tradesman’s national team of the Central Association of the German Construction Industry for the European Championships in Gothenburg as well as numerous topics and conferences for the construction industry, associations and municipal institutions. The NordBau enjoys great popularity for over decades in the North European construction industry. The exhibitor spots are already virtually booked.
On approximately 69,000 m2 of outdoor area and over 20,000 m2 of hall space, Northern Europe’s compact exhibition for construction offers approximately 850 exhibition spaces every year to present the entire spectrum of construction with modern building materials and components, powerful machines, municipal machines and attachments for construction and trade as well as the latest energy technology. The NordBau is at home in Neumünster since 1955 and cooperates with the partner country Denmark for over 40 years. Over 60,000 visitors visit the exhibition every year.
