New buildings and modernization:
Traditional fairgrounds under rejuvenating treatment
Neumünster. – New constructions and renovations of the tradition-rich Holstenhallen will be a top issue in Neumünster for the following months. It’s the constructors who decide what’s going on, until mid – March, with the northern German fairgrounds.
According to the declaration of Dirk Iwersen, managing director of the company, there are 21 million Euros in for the long-awaited “rejuvenating treatments” of the, partly under conservation, buildings. “Despite the construction works, the 58th edition of NordBau taking place in Neumünster from September 12th to 17th, the same surface is available, in halls (20.000 m²) and in the open (69.000 m²). Exhibitors and visitors of Northern Europe’s largest compact constructions trade fair would then be spared the construction activities. “Since at this moment most of the exhibiting surfaces in halls and in the open are already booked, and as the fair will be again fully booked in September, the construction works do follow a very precise schedule.” The manager listed efficiency, climate protection and feel good factor of the customer as the target of the renewals. That would lead to the absolutely most unique atmosphere of a fair venue – where people get to talk to each other.
The focal point of the construction works is modernization of Hall 1, under conservation as a monument, dating from the thirties, by equipping it with the latest technologies and having it insulated with the most modern materials
High quality materials are part also of an approximately 1100 m² new built connecting hall, meant to unite “history” with “modernity”. That is where the contact points of the Chambers and the road authorities will by be located in the future. Training and recruitment facilities are also located in the building, furnished according to the most recent requirements.
There will be over 40 conferences and seminars organized along the coming NordBau. More than 4000 delegates at the congress will use, among others, the officially accepted training facilities, recognized by the Architects- and Engineers Chambers. Furthermore, specialized visitors will have the opportunity to attend, as part of the participation in the fair, short courses on specific topics and receive proof of their participation.
