Orientation on housing construction and the heat transition at NordBau 2024 – Innovative, practical, well-founded 06. May 2024

(Neumünster) On 4th and 5th September, CONBAU Nord will take place for the first time as part of the NordBau construction trade fair – the construction congress in the north for housing construction and heat transition. The symposium is being organised by Lübeck University of Applied Sciences with Prof. Sebastian Fiedler, the Arbeitsgemeinschaft für zeitgemäßes Bauen with Prof. Dietmar Walberg and Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein. The organisers are convinced that the challenges of a sustainable transformation can only be met if experts from different sectors work together to promote future-oriented innovations for residential construction: Science, architecture, construction companies, industry, politics, administration, housing companies, and financiers. The interdisciplinary congress on housing construction and the heat transition will feature 40 high-calibre and inspiring speakers. They will present examples from neighbouring Scandinavian countries and report on their practical experience. CONBAU Nord is an ideal platform for thinking outside the box, engaging in dialogue, and exploiting synergies, especially in combination with the NordBau construction trade fair: www.conbau-nord.de.

When it comes to energy, heating, and solar technology in particular, NordBau offers a wide range of well-known products and manufacturers on all five days of the trade fair (4th – 8th September 2024). In Hall 7, which is fully booked, visitors – whether for professional or private reasons – can find out all about the suitable technology, inspect and buy equipment. From heat pumps, solar and photovoltaic technology, pellet heating systems and tiled stoves to home and security technology, insulation materials, windows, and doors – everything that can be relevant for saving energy in your own building can be found among the exhibitors.

The variety of products and the extensive range of advice on offer at NordBau are very interesting for new construction projects, but above all for the renovation and remodelling of existing buildings. Trade businesses and associations report that they are currently particularly active in this field and are thus making a significant contribution to the energy-efficient refurbishment of properties and thus to the heat transition.

The construction or remodelling package is rounded off by the special show on interior design and decoration in Hall 3, which is not just about “making sense”, but also about feeling good, both for your own four walls and for office and commercial premises. Suitable products for interior design can be found in the other exhibition halls, e.g. kitchens, tiles, flooring, stairs, and bathroom elements, and for outdoor areas: patio covers, carports, fences, façade elements and sun protection.

Figures, data, and facts

With around 69,000 square meters of outdoor exhibition space and over 20,000 square meters of indoor exhibition space, Nord-Bau is considered the most important compact construction trade fair in northern Europe and the entire Baltic Sea region. Annu-ally up to 700 exhibitors from 15 countries meet approx. 50,000 visitors. About 50 seminars and events register approx. 4,000 conference participants, with half of the conferences being recognized by the SH Chamber of Architects and Engineers as offi-cial training events. Since 1956, exhibitors have used NordBau to reach both the numerous trade visitors and end customers (both public and private builders). NordBau has a high level of acceptance and appeal for all those interested in construction and for those working in the construction industry. Furthermore, NordBau has been closely associated with the partner country Denmark for more than 45 years, which sees the trade fair as the basis for the German and European market.

69th NordBau will take place from 4 to 8 September 2024 at Holstenhallen Neumünster exhibition grounds.
