On this occasion, Mr. Krzysztof Suszek – President of ORLEN Asfalt – one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of bitumen in Poland, replied our questions in an interview on which we invite you to go through in the following lines:

What type of products commercialize your company and who are the ideal customers?
ORLEN Asfalt Sp. z o.o., a member of the ORLEN Capital Group, is one of the largest Polish suppliers of bituminous binders obtained from crude oil. Our company has always concentrated on the production and sale of road bitumen, polymer-modified ORBITON road bitumens, multigrade Bitrex bitumen and industrial bitumens. A thoroughly modern company, ORLEN Asfalt is a reliable supplier of road bitumens, able to meet the needs of even the largest road construction projects, thanks to its state-of-the-art production facilities and highly qualified team of engineers. Our portfolio is designed primarily for contractors building roads and highways.
What characteristics of your products / components make them different and interesting for the customers?
We offer prime quality products and services. Our production lines meet European standards and in some cases even exceed them. ORLEN Asfalt is a great example of a modern company that focuses on the production process and constant improvement of the quality of its products, while at the same time ensuring that service quality is always very high.
To assist our clients and ensure the high quality of the roads they build, we offer technical advice on any topic connected with bitumen binders: the choice of specific materials, their properties and applications.
We offer a comprehensive range of products that can meet the needs of the Romanian market. To achieve even greater flexibility of supplies and availability of bitumen, we have consolidated our production facilities, so that we are able to supply bitumens from any of our five plants: Płock, Trzebinia, Litvinov, Pardubice and Mazeikiai.

What is your perception regarding the profile market in Romania?
We have operated on the Romanian market for several years and our brand and products are now recognised by road construction companies. We focus mainly on Central and Eastern Europe, where we would like to be a major player. Our exports have steadily increased each year and we are now one of the main suppliers of bitumen to the Romanian market. We deliver products of the highest quality and successfully compete against the largest European refineries. Our bitumen is used in the largest road-building projects in Romania. Our plan is to intensify our operations on this market in the near future.
What novelties will present this year ORLEN Asfalt to Construct Expo 2013?
We have created a technical publication especially for Construct Expo 2013. Our “Bitumen Guide” is a compendium of knowledge on bitumen binders and their practical applications. The target audience includes engineers who design, produce and use mineral-bitumen mixes. The publication is the fruit of the work and experience of our Technology and R&D team and of consultations with Professor Mihai ILIESCU.

How does ORLEN Asfalt prepares their attendance at Construct Expo 2013?
This will be ORLEN Asfalt’s first appearance at Construct Expo. Furthermore, by participating in this trade show, we will increase and maintain our credibility with our existing and potential customers, and we will grow our business.
