Plantworx Worked for SDMO

SDMO Energy Limited, the UK arm of the power generation giant SDMO Industries, are celebrating a highly successful Plantworx show.
“We received confirmed orders for five 200kVA sets on the opening day of the show and with the keen interest shown in all our equipment by the visitors to our stand, we expect more orders to follow,” said Clive Dix, SDMO’s director.
The main interest was in SDMO’s latest innovation, the RC1650 portable power station. The R1650 is a 1450kVA, prime power (1200kW COP) portable generating plant fitted into a 20ft (6m) ISO low cube container. The set has compact dimensions and is designed to provide major back-up power for factories, hospitals and/or sites that require continuous electricity at short notice and where available space is limited.
“The power rental professionals that scrutinised our R1650 all commented how compact the set is in relation to its power output”, continued Clive. “They were also impressed with the new cooling system which contributes to a reduced noise output.
One unexpected turn of events occurred on the final day of Plantworx when the owner of the catering trailer, who was plying his trade right opposite the SDMO stand, took away a Perform 3000 LPG powered generator to use to power his trailer on future events. He spied the 3kVA LPG generator and crossed over to SDMO and was immediately struck how clean the emissions were and the potential savings when compared to using petrol or diesel.

“LPG generators are increasingly being used in the outside catering industry as it is perceived to be a cleaner fuel and hence more compatible with food hygiene,” confirmed Clive. “With the cost of LPG lower than that of petrol and together with the associated reduced risk of ground contamination when refuelling, more catering organisations are looking towards LPG to power their equipment. We now have three products available in this range from 3 to 6 kVA enabling a catering client to power a variety of equipment,” added Clive.
Although the weather made several attempts to put a dampener on proceedings, SDMO are overall very satisfied with the number and quality of the visitors to their display area.
SDMO Industries are one of the largest producers of power generation equipment in the world. Plantworx is a dedicated working construction machinery show and was held in May at the Stoneleigh Park Showground.
