The ReTEC trade fair, from the 25th to the 27th April in Augsburg, is the meeting point for the world of used technical equipment. Over three days, the exhibitors at ReTEC present used machinery from all sectors of industry in halls 5, 6 and 7 and in the outdoor fairgrounds at the Augsburg Trade Fair Centre.
Augsburg – There is a wide range on offer at ReTEC with the main focus on building machinery and industrial trucks as well as metal working machines and machine tools. Furthermore, there are some exhibitors offering a full range of services relating to used machinery, including retrofitting, dis- and re-assembly, special transport and commissioning.
Trade associations and organisations, with their information and members, are also represented at the fair. The specialist sponsor of ReTEC is the FDM (Fachverband des Maschinen- und Werkzeug-Großhandels e. V., Association of Machine and Tools Wholesalers); further support comes from the EAMTM (European Association of Machine Tool Merchants) and from various publishers and trade media, who participate in ReTEC as media partners.
Sale of used machines
Through the sale of used machinery, businesses save disposal costs and gain capital that can be invested in new machinery. It is, however, often difficult to find the right buyer for large and special machinery; the right sales channel is decisive. Various online channels make it possible to reach a large target group but often only with a large, off-target scatter. The ReTEC trade fair is an opportunity for the targeted presentation of used machinery to an interested public with ideal marketing of machinery requiring explanation through personal discussion. International visitor groups from countries such as Armenia, China, Egypt, India, Iran, Iraq, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Turkey and the Ukraine have already registered for ReTEC 2017. The demand for machinery in these countries is large but available finances are often only sufficient to allow for used machinery.
Looking for and finding used machines
The purchase of a used machine does not mean a sacrifice on quality. Quite the opposite: Used and generally overhauled machines are often of higher quality than new models and not so prone to breakdown. You can often add the “Made in Germany” quality factor, as well as economic and ecological factors. The exhibitors at ReTEC present used machinery from various sectors of industry and provide the individual advice for a successful and worthwhile investment. Companies like KUKA, Gläsener + Schmidt, Netstal with KraussMaffei and Joseph Vögele, not forgetting many others, together with the event partners, make ReTEC an ideal platform for the purchase of used machinery.
Strong partners and international exhibitors
KUKA offers used robots in various categories, as well as nearly new display robots and fully factory reconditioned robots. KUKA customises used machines for the individual optimisation of production processes and flows. At ReTEC, the company is presenting its full range of services for used robots, from partial to full overhauls or custom solutions and modernisations. Gläsener+Schmidt is also participating in ReTEC 2017: “By taking part in the fair, we want to look after our customer contacts, win new customers and, above all, strengthen our company’s international outlook. Since ReTEC is the only major trade fair for used machinery in Europe, we are pleased to promote and take part in this fair. GS Machine Tools was already a participant in previous trade fairs and we have always been able to rate our presence at the fair a success”, said Markus Braun, GS Machine Tools.
ReTEC – International trade fair for used machinery and plant
ReTEC is hosted by the trade fair organiser, AFAG, in cooperation with Hess GmbH. From 2017, ReTEC will alternate annually between Augsburg and Essen. The date is always in April, coinciding with the trade fair “Hannover Messe”. For further information, see www.retec.com.
