SAMOTER 2011: Certified Leadership Statistics

Data for the last edition have been certified by FKM as a warranty of transparency, clarity and precision
VeronaFiere, in 1997, was the first non-German exhibition centre & organiser to request analysis of its results in terms of certification by FKM, as a further positive element in the assessment of its events – not the least in relation to markets and international clientele.
Renewed trust by companies in the construction field is what emerges from the 28th edition of Samoter, the Triennial Earth Moving and Building Industry Machinery Exhibition. 108,906 m2 of net exhibition area welcomed 909 exhibitors, of whom 28.93% international from 37 different countries:
68.44% from Europe with Germany as the first country of origin, 11.79% from Asia, 10.65% from America, 8.75% from non-EU countries and the rest from Africa.
The Exhibition attracted 98,048 visitors, with international attendance at 11.70%, for an increase of 16.22% compared to the 2008 edition: 52.43% from Europe, with Germany once again in front of the top ten followed by France, 28.47% for non-EU countries, 40.66% from Asia and the Middle East, 4.58% from America, 3.67% from Africa and 0.18% from Oceania.
As regards Italian visitors, results were as follows: 70.39% from northern Italy, 19.80% from central Italy and 9.81% from the South and Islands.

Visitor profiles were very varied:

11.4% professionals, consultants, designers, services

8.7% extraction, quarries, mines

3.9% rental/hire

The following trade sectors were represented by exhibitors: 26.5 % for components, 17.2% earth moving, 10.4% for products and services, 8.6% hoisting/lifting, 8.6% crushing, 7.4% drilling, 6.4% vehicles, 6.3% road building, 5.9% concrete and 2.7% technical publishing.
About 2000 people, moreover, attended 50 conventions, seminars and training Courses organised thanks to the synergy between the organisers, exhibitors and trade associations.
Major interest in the event was also highlighted by the pages visited on the site – 2 million hits with translations in 10 languages achieving +43% compared to 2008.
More than 4 thousand visits were achieved by the “mobile” version (for mobile phones and latest generation IPhones).
The Exhibition enjoys the patronage of CECE (European Committee of Site Machinery Manufacturers’ Associations) and the Ministry for Economic Development and confirmed its status as the most important on a European scale in 2001, as well as the reference promotional platform for a sector that in Italy in 2010, in accordance with ANCE data (National Association of Building Constructors, representing more than 20 thousand companies) implemented investments totalling 136 billion euros, for overall turnover in the value chain of 325 billion euros.
