SIKO at bauma 2025: Solutions for Complex Challenges

From 7 to 13 April 2025, SIKO GmbH, the specialist in position sensor systems in the area of mobile machines, will be presenting its latest solutions for safety position sensors at bauma in Munich, the largest specialist trade fair for construction machinery in the world. Under the slogan “Solutions for Complex Challenges”, the company will be showing how it supports its customers with innovative, reliable and, above all, safe sensors for the development of autonomous and highly automated construction machines at Stand 415 in Hall A2.
Making machines fit for the challenges of the future: at bauma in Munich, SIKO GmbH is presenting its comprehensive range of sensor solutions for mobile machines. Whether it’s for new safety specifications, complex motion control or innovative application concepts – the company’s products are specially tailored to the needs of its customers and are developed 100% for use in mobile machines. In this context, SIKO emphasises maximum reliability, safety and advanced technology.

A focus on functional safety: The key to safe autonomous machines

Safety is the top priority for SIKO. This is also evident in the trade fair highlights of the company, which consist one of the most extensive portfolios of safety position sensors in the market. They meet the highest safety standards and help make applications future-proof.

“Safe position sensors, also referred to as safety sensors, have been an important part of our product portfolio for 20 years now and are once again the focus of our exhibition booth this year,” explains Mathias Roth, Manager of the Mobile Automation Business Unit at SIKO, in an interview. “Construction sites are complex environments, in which a wide range of machines work in direct proximity to people. Especially with highly automated and autonomous machines, it is therefore only right that the focus is on safety requirements. In order to meet these challenges, we support our customers with powerful and reliable sensor solutions,” continues Mathias Roth.
The company operates as a strategic development partner and designs robust, application-orientated sensor solutions for mobile machines. With a deep understanding of customer needs, SIKO provides support from planning through to implementation of the sensors. The company’s broad product portfolio allows it to offer both standard solutions and systems individually adapted to specific requirements.

Compact, robust, safe: SIKO has innovative sensor technology to meet any challenge

Among the latest product innovations that SIKO is presenting at bauma 2025 are the new draw-wire encoders of the NEO series, with measurement lengths from 3 to 15 metres and impressively compact design, strength and safety features up to Performance Level d (PLd). The new, highly dynamic inertial measurement unit (IMU), the IMS365R, is certified to SIL2 and PLd, and provides not only a dynamically compensated and reliable static inclination value, but also other important data, such as acceleration, rotation rates and Euler angles, which are also available as safety values. These are essential functions for autonomous machines. With the WV3600MR and WH3600MR, SIKO is also presenting the smallest safe absolute multiturn encoders in the world, which, in addition to reliable position and speed data, impress with their small design and diameter of just 36 mm.
Another innovative product is the bearingless encoder MSK5000CAN, which has an extremely compact design and high protection type up to IP68 which make it ideal for contactless detection of speed, travel direction and position. It transmits the information it gathers conveniently via the CANopen interface. In addition, the bearingless MSAC200 encoder, also known as the FlexCoder, impresses with its versatility and the wide choice of different continuous hollow shaft diameters up to 230 mm that it can accommodate. This absolute bearingless rotary encoder is optimised for use in electric drives, slip rings and hydraulic motors, and offers a resolution of up to 20 bits per rotation.

Mobile machines of tomorrow: SIKO is supporting the central themes of bauma 2025

Sustainability, digitalisation and efficiency are the main themes of this year’s bauma, which the measurement specialist SIKO is actively supporting with its products. Robust and durable sensors reduce maintenance and extend the service life of machines. Intelligent sensor solutions facilitate the integration of modern technologies, such as condition monitoring and predictive maintenance. With precise position and movement data, processes can be optimised and productivity increased – making complex tasks solvable and giving an “efficiency boost” to a whole industry through highly automated and autonomous systems.

At Stand 415 in Hall A2, visitors can see for themselves how SIKO sensor solutions are contributing to making mobile machines safer and more efficient. With its pioneering technologies and customer-focused approach, SIKO is playing an active part in shaping the future of mobile machines.
