USETEC 2012 The outdoor area is full to bursting

As visitors approach Koelnmesse, they can see the machinery on USETEC’s outdoor area from far away. From truck mounted cranes to tractors, exhibitors will present a comprehensive range of mobile machinery from 5 – 7 March 2012.
At USETEC visitors can buy directly from the manufacturer – compressors (Amco, Netherlands), concrete pumps (Putzmeister), construction machinery (Caterpillar Used), rollers (Hamm) or refuse collecting and snow fighting vehicles (Schmidt Kommunal). Exhibiting manufacturers also include Joseph Vögele AG from Ludwigshafen, the global market leader in road pavers. “Our expectations are very high, especially because USETEC and the International Hardware Fair are taking place in parallel,” says Thomas Nessel, Used Machinery Sales Manager at Vögele. “We are expecting this to generate an additional flow of visitors.” He also believes that infrastructure projects in other countries will have a positive effect on sales. “The Romanian government has taken the decision to invest more heavily in road building,” he argues. “Demand for construction machinery has also risen noticeably in North Africa.”
These observations are consistent with the machinery enquiries received by USETEC’s organisers and partner associations in the run-up to the event. For example, Berhanu Alemu from Fa-Ber Construction Plc in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia is looking to purchase excavators and trucks for transporting excavated earth and rubble. Many other enquiries for construction machinery have also been received from Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
As well as construction machinery, the outdoor site is home to (intra)logistic and energy equipment. Dealers such as BS Forklifts (Netherlands), Thermote & Vanhalst (Belgium), Hinrichs and Trafik are offering conveyors with attachments and elevating work platforms from all well-known manufacturers. Truck-mounted cranes can be found at Hack. Visitors seeking mobile electric generators will find them at Bredenoord and Diesel Power from Holland as well as Yellow Power from Switzerland. Accessories, global spare parts delivery service and other services (dismantling and reassembly, storage) complete the range.
The USETEC outdoor area is easy to find connecting directly to Hall 8. A green carpet guides visitors past the “outdoor meeting place” – the port-of-call in Hall 8 – directly to the exhibiting companies on the outdoor area. Many other mobile machines are also to be found in the hall, including products from the following suppliers: Agrar-Markt Deppe, Atlet, BlackForxx, Expander, Fo Ma Ko, Gabelstapler Finger, Hammel, Krone, Lenzing Staplerhaus, Machinery Resale, MarketBook, Nagel Baumaschinen, Erich Peter, Richter Gabelstapler, Teichmann, Unilift, Wacker Neuson and Zeppelin Power Systems.
USETEC 2012 will begin one day after the opening of the International Hardware Fair at the same trade fair site in Cologne. It will take place from Monday 5 to Wednesday 7 March. USETEC features used machinery and equipment for every sector and branch of industry and commerce. Further information is available at www.usetec.com.
