The CPA (Construction Plant-hire Association) will be exhibiting at the EHS (Executive Hire Show) for the 9th year running (11th & 12th February, Ricoh Arena, Coventry). The association will be promoting its ‘Stars of the Future’ which is an award scheme, now in its third year, for trainees in the plant-hire industry held in conjunction with a number of UK colleges offering plant mechanic apprentice training.
The association will also be advising visitors to the show on its wide range of services offered to Hire Industry professionals.
The CPA will also be holding a Strategic Forum Plant Safety Group ‘Outreach Meeting’ at the show on the morning of Wednesday 11th February (10.30am to 13.00pm in the Jaguar Suite at the Ricoh Arena). Discussion topics will include Operator Competence, Medical Fitness and the Public Health Responsibility Deal (which is a government initiative), Telehandlers, including new work on ‘Suspended Loads’, and the recently published guidance on Ground Conditions for construction plant.
New projects that the CPA is planning to undertake in 2015 will also be introduced. These could include Inadvertent Operation of Controls on excavators and similar machines; and Lifting Using Excavators. Key industry speakers will also be in attendance.
