bauma—last-minute infos

In just a few days time, the doors will open on the 31st edition of bauma, the World’s Leading Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines, Construction Vehicles and Construction Equipment. At this seven-day event, taking place between April 11 and 17, 2016, over 3,400 exhibitors will be showcasing their latest products and innovations, and that of course includes many jumbo-sized machines. Below is some last-minute information on the upcoming show.
bauma app
The bauma app gives you 24/7 access to all the key information about bauma 2016. Containing a list of exhibitors, interactive hall plans, all the events in the supporting program and other useful functions, this app helps make best use of your time at the show. The bauma app is available to download from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
Visitor registration
Visitors are recommended to register for the show in advance, at www.bauma.de/trade-fair/visitors/purchase-ticket. This not only saves money, but it also gives you a chance of winning a prize, because all the names of visitors who pre-register (and of those who redeem vouchers) go forward into a prize draw. Another benefit of registering in advance is that you don’t waste time at the exhibition center standing in line to buy a ticket. You just go straight through the turnstiles into the halls.
Opening times
Monday to Friday: 9:30 to 18:30
Saturday: 8:30 to 18:30
Sunday: 9:30 to 16:30
Webcam
For the first time this year Messe München is streaming live pictures from the open-air site at bauma 2016 on the internet. Go to www.bauma.de/trade-fair/at-the-fair/webcam to see impressive pictures from the bauma webcam. And feast your eyes on the outdoor display at the biggest trade fair in the world.
Exhibitor list and mining list
One tool that is invaluable to visitors planning their time at the show is the list of exhibitors, available at http://exhibitors.bauma.de/en. There’s also a plan of the exhibition center here, for an overview of the exhibition halls and the open-air site. A search function in the exhibitor list provides detailed information on individual exhibitors and products. And you can also save your own ‘reminder list’ there. As well as this overall list of exhibitors, there is also a dedicated list of companies presenting their products and solutions in the mining section. The mining exhibitors can be viewed and selected under a separate tab.
Jobs forum
Another first this year at bauma is an online jobs forum. At www.bauma.de/trade-fair/at-the-fair/job-exchange you can take a look at the vacancies posted there by the exhibiting companies, and if you wish, you can arrange meetings at bauma with the companies of interest to you.
bauma Charity Alliance
For years the building and construction machinery industry has been a driving force in economic growth worldwide. Alongside their day-to-day business, the companies in this sector are also making an active contribution to combating hunger and poverty in the Third World and promoting education and environmental protection. This commitment is now to be highlighted in a new initiative: the bauma Charity Alliance, launched at this year´s bauma.
