BOUYGUES CONSTRUCTION – A Major Sponsor of the "Green Building Solutions" Conference and Exhibition, the Premier Event in Qatar Devoted to Sustainable Construction

On the occasion of the “Green Building Solutions” conference and exhibition in Doha, the principal trade fair in Qatar entirely dedicated to sustainable construction, which ran from 2 to 4 March, Bouygues Bâtiment International, a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction, decided to exhibit its know-how and the innovative solutions that the Group is capable of implementing to help protect the environment. As one of the leading figures in the sustainable construction market, Bouygues Construction opted to become one of the three principal sponsors of the event.
Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jaber Al Thanil, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the event helped Doha assert its reputation as the Gulf’s “Capital of Green”. A number of Qatari and international players in the property and construction sectors took part, exhibiting innovations intended to help protect the environment. It was also an opportunity for Bouygues Bâtiment International to show its support for the QSAS (Qatar Sustainability Assesment System) certification system that is employed in Qatar and elsewhere in the region, and to develop its expertise in the system.
Bouygues Construction specialists used this major occasion to showcase the company’s know-how in relation to new technologies, engineering, construction processes and new materials, along with new solutions for energy management and the sustainable maintenance of buildings. The Group delivered the Tampines towers in Singapore, which were awarded the country’s highest environmental accolade, the “Green Mark Platinum”.
Bouygues Construction retains a positive positioning in Qatar, a dynamic country with strong growth potential. Since early last year, its subsidiary Bouygues Bâtiment International has been constructing the Barwa Financial District in Doha, a huge property development complex which includes nine office towers, a hotel, a shopping centre, a conference centre and a mosque.
