One of the world’s biggest demolition contractors to highlight major Chicago project at the World Demolition Summit (WDS) in Amsterdam on 6 November 2015.
Dennis McGarel, vice president of sales at Brandenburg Industrial Service Co will use the World Demolition Summit conference to outline the company’s work on the removal of the Prentice Woman’s Hospital and Maternity Center in downtown Chicago, USA. Mr McGarel will explain the challenges faced by the contractor in demolishing a cantilevered nine storey, four cylindrical tower structure sitting on top of a rectangular five storey lower structure. There were other challenges as well, with court action to prevent demolition leading to delays of more than a year on the project.
Brandenburg is the latest speaker to join a line-up that includes other high profile speakers, including:
- Peter Craven (CDE Global) on waste recycling targets;
- Henrik Bonnesen (COWI) on a Danish investigation into PCB sources;
- Clinton Dick (Liberty International) on the decommissioning of a massive harbor crane in Sydney Harbour;
- Keynote address by David Sinclair on a life in demolition;
- William Sinclair (Safedem) on demolition and urban redevelopment.
