Buckhurst Plant Hire, based in Rossendale, Lancashire is the largest independent hirer in the North-West of England, with over 2000 items of machinery in its fleet.
The company introduced Hyundai excavators, supplied by Cumbria-based Hyundai dealer, Taylor and Braithwaite to its fleet in 2012 and by the end of 2013; the company had an impressive 48 Hyundai machines in its stable – which include 14t excavators, 20t excavators and 3 machines above 30t.

The company has recently signed another deal with Taylor and Braithwaite for a further 22 Hyundai excavators, comprising 14t R145 CRD’s and 20t R210LC-9’s, in a deal worth around £1.5million. The machines are due for delivery in January 2014 with the completion of the order in early February 2014.

We introduced Hyundai machines into our fleet because they are incredibly reliable and we get very good operator feedback and they enjoy driving the vehicles. We have had a number of Hyundai machines on some very high profile projects – such as the M8 road project in Scotland and also on the Manchester City ground and showed an impressive performance”
Lee concluded, “We also receive excellent back up service from T & B and I am sure we will be adding more Hyundai machines to our fleet in the future. We already have forward orders on this batch and some of the machines will be deployed to our brand New Buckhurst Plant Hire depot in Peterhead Aberdeenshire, which opened at the beginning of this month.
We now have four depots which include one in Leeds in West Yorkshire and Bathgate in West Lothian.”
