The CEA (Construction Equipment Association) has organised a UK Pavilion at the forthcoming bauma China construction machinery, vehicles and equipment exhibition which takes place in Shanghai China from 22nd – 25th November this year. The dedicated Pavilion will feature 12 UK exhibitors (in addition to the CEA booth), comprising construction companies and industry suppliers from the UK. When it comes to its significance, bauma China is a leading trade fair for the entire construction and building material machine industry in China and all of Asia.
bauma China 2014 attracted nearly 190,000 visitors from 149 countries and regions as well as 3,098 exhibitors from 41 countries. The show once again occupied all 300,000 square meters of exhibition space at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. According to bauma China, 93 percent of all visitors there are decision-makers who are looking specifically for new solutions: CEOs, managers, investors and buyers from around the world—and of course from Asia’s major growth markets in particular – making it an excellent prospect for UK exhibitors to get in front of potential new customers and ‘fly the flag’ for Britain.
To date, more than 2,400 exhibitors have signed up for this eighth International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines and Construction Vehicles. Collin Davis, Project Group Manager at Messe München, knows “that the situation in the Chinese market is complicated, which, of course, is also reflected to a certain extent in a trade fair. However, there’s no doubt that bauma China remains by far the biggest and most important sector event in the Asian region.”
It can also be assumed that the Chinese market will recover significantly in the medium term. This is due not only to the numerous new construction projects stimulating machine production, but also to the new emissions guidelines which necessitate new systems and machines. According to a forecast by Off-Highway Research, the Chinese market for construction machinery will achieve a sales volume of US$17.169 billion in 2016—a slight upward trend.
Joanna Oliver MBE, director of Global Programmes at the CEA said, “There is only one stand remaining in the UK pavilion at bauma China, so if you would like to exhibit at the event then please send us your booking form as soon as you can! Don’t forget that UKTI TAP grants are also available at £2,500 per eligible UK exhibitor.”
Mrs Oliver continued: “It’s great that we are able to help so many UK companies at our overseas exhibitions. Even better that we can do it with the support of UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) Some of the Pavilion exhibitors will be new to export and some old hands – that’s part of what makes the UK Pavilions a success for the exhibitors – everyone is willing to share experiences, export tips and contacts and lend each other a hand where needed.”
