In another major vote of confidence in the quality of the Chinese LiuGong product, Dudman Group of Companies have ordered 6 x 856III models and 1 x 888III model, which will be put to work at the companies various sites along the South Coast of England. Talking about this latest high profile deal, Brian Prescott of CPMS said “I have dealt with Steve Dudman for over 30 Years selling a large range of Construction Equipment.
As Steve Dudman has always been open minded to listen to my recommendations in the past with any new products I feel are worthwhile to support, we fought hard to win his approval to trial and evaluate our LuiGong product within his Quarrying and Recycling businesses.
Being an operator with tough demands in Quarrying and personally as a hard negotiator but always fair, the units we trialled with the Dudman Group of Companies have been a great success. It is also fair to say that his team worked with us to make some very early improvements to our LuiGong product to meet the UK market demands which increases our confidence when bringing the LuiGong product to the attention of buyers today instead of from other known brands.”
A number of the new machines have been delivered and are already on site, including the largest machine in the order, the 888III. This impressive machine features a six cylinder Cummins QSM11-C335 Tier 3/Stage IIIA engine, which offers a gross power output of 250kw (335hp). It has an operational weight of 30,000kgs and the machine is fitted with a 5.2m3 bucket. This loading shovel has been put straight to work at the company’s Albion Wharf facility in Shoreham, where it’s engaged in the loading of a multitude of products, ranging from ballast to type 1 limestone.

One of the six 856 III models has been put to work at the company’s Rock Common pit, near Washington in West Sussex, where it is primarily engaged in digging out sand and loading a screening machine, in addition to other associated loading operations. The 856III wheeled loader, which weighs in at 18,450kgs, is powered by a six cylinder Cummins QSB6.7 Tier 3/Stage IIIA engine, which produces a gross power output of 164kw (223hp). The machine is fitted with a standard bucket capacity of 3m3.
The machines have been modified by the team at CPMS to suit the customer’s specifications, including RDS Loadmaster 800i on board weighing systems, Lincoln automatic lubrication systems, and turbo pre cleaners on the air inductions. In addition to these items, other modifications include the fitment of Hardox cutting edges on the buckets, seat belt lights, orange flashing beacons, blue strobe style reversing lights and white noise audible reversing alarm systems.
After some initial scepticism, operator feedback has been very good, with the majority of operators saying they have been pleasantly surprised at just how good the machines are. The cabs on the LiuGong wheeled loaders feature all the usual creature comforts one expects from a modern piece of construction equipment, including suspension seat, fully automatic air conditioning and radio/USB player for those long shifts behind the wheel. In addition the fitment of cool box helps to keep the operator’s lunch fresh throughout the course of his shift.
Talking about his decision to choose LiuGong machines, Managing Director Steve Dudman said, “The Dudman Group of Companies have been proud to be associated with Brian Prescott for over 35 years in the purchase of Construction Plant and Equipment and we have trusted his judgement each time he has brought an evolving product to the market, and the latest LuiGong product is another fine product.
The team at CPM Sales, together with LuiGong, have brought a long awaited range of quality Heavy Construction products at a realistic and competitive cost to meet the demands of current financial constraints endured by UK businesses now looking to reinvest.
CPMS have invested in a comprehensive UK Dealership Network for the full product support which has performed seamlessly when called upon on the odd occasion which has also been an attractive factor. The LuiGong range of Wheeled Shovels we have purchased so far have been highly reliable with an excellent level of power and performance, with good fuel economy and met with great acceptance from operators for comfort.
We would recommend the LuiGong product for evaluation with confidence by any serious purchaser at any time and the Dudman Group of Companies will continue to purchase without hesitation more LuiGong product in the future”.
