European Union, U.S. environmental regulations are focus of new AEM webinar

A new AEM webinar will help companies better understand and comply with European and U.S. environmental rules. The January 19 seminar, “REACH, RoHS, WEEE, Conflict Minerals: The Important Regulations Impacting Engineers and Manufacturers,” is being held in partnership with the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers.
All companies selling into the European Union must comply with the REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) regulations as well as the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directives. In the U.S., the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act requires disclosure of “conflict minerals” from the Democratic Republic of Congo region used for product production or functionality.
Regulatory compliance can often be confusing and costly, and failure to comply could result in lost sales and market share. The January 19 AEM webinar’s expert presenters will guide attendees through key issues and challenges with REACH, RoHS, WEEE and Dodd-Frank that can affect how companies do business, including due diligence in developing and maintaining verifiable proof of compliance.
