The 55th annual Doe Show took place earlier this month (3rd, 4th and 5th February) at Hyundai dealer Ernest Doe site in Ulting, Maldon Essex, UK. The annual show is the largest construction, agricultural and groundcare dealer show in the UK.
Whilst the weather was cold, there was more than enough sunshine for visitors to stand outside and watch some of the impressive demonstrations, which included a Hyundai R145 LCR-9A working in the main demonstration plot assisted by Thwaites three tonne and six tonne dumpers.
Graham Parker, sales director of Ernest Doe & Sons said, “We are pleased that our show grows year by year and that visitors continue to attend in their thousands showing interest in new products and developments in the market and actively discussing their forward machinery purchases with us and the manufacturers’ technical staff who are in attendance at the show.
We were pleased to see that we picked up significantly more in new sales of construction equipment – we sold 20 Hyundai machines at the show! The show’s attendance is proof that that the construction market place keeps on progressing upwards. We had a really good three days.”
Around 10,000 visitors flocked to the Doe Show where a wide range of Hyundai machines (12 in total) – including brand new models from the Dash-9A series. Machines that were on show ranged in operating weights from 1.6 tonnes up to 22 tonnes. The wheeled loader on show had an operating weight of 23.5 tonnes.
Visitors to the Doe Show were able to see the R16-9 mini excavator, R25Z-9A zero swing excavator, R27Z-9 mini and the R35Z-9 mini. Also on display were the R60CR-9 short tail swing mini, the R80CR-9 with short tail swing and with the addition of a tilting cabin.
Larger machines on display included the R140LC-9A, the R145LCR-9A (On Demo) and the R180W-9A wheeled excavator and its crawler excavator equivalent. The R220LC-9A also made an appearance as did the HL770-9a wheeled loader.
Ernest Doe has been importing Hyundai excavators into the UK now for 24 years and interest in the Hyundai product has grown extensive – the machines are deemed as innovative dependable and represent excellent value for money.
According to the Committee of European Construction Equipment, the UK remains the fastest growing European market in terms of sales of construction equipment and Hyundai is the fastest growing supplier of construction equipment in the UK. Sales of Hyundai machines in the UK have rocketed to more than 1100 units in 2014 alone. This trend is set to continue into 2015 and beyond with orders stacking up!
New from Hyundai for 2015 are the R125LCR-9A excavator and the HL780-9A loading shovel.
Ernest Doe expects the R125LCR-9A with Tier 4 Stage IIIB engine to be a winner as it offers frugal fuel usage in a machine capable of a dig depth of over 5 metres, handles a 0.4m3 bucket but is still small enough to work in confined sites due to its ‘0’ tail swing design. The HL780-9A tops the range of loading shovels from Hyundai with an operating weight of over 30 tonnes.
