Mining Exhibition Opportunities in Chile with CEA/UKTI Chile – Book Early – Show set to be a Sell Out!

The CEA (Construction Equipment Association) in conjunction with UKTI Chile (UK Trade & Investment) is organising a UK Pavilion at the forthcoming Exponor exhibition which takes place in Antofagasta, Chile from 11th – 15th May 2015. EXPONOR will be a sell-out and the CEA can only hold stand space until 1st February 2015 – after this time any unsold space will be returned to the organisers – so early booking is advised!
EXPONOR mining exhibition
Exponor, is the international trade show for the mining industry which takes place every two-years in Antofagasta –which is the mining center of Chile producing 54% of copper at national level, and 16% of the global production, as well as being a leader in the production of other metallic and non-metallic minerals. Antofagasta is the world’s leading copper production zone.
Exponor manager Andrea Moreno said, “Exponor is the meeting point of industrial scale mining in America, with a project portfolio of US$17 million until 2015. The show is a comprehensive trade fair which promotes the management of production connections and new business, as well as exchange and sharing of knowledge and experience between regional, national and international entrepreneurs.”
Joanna Oliver MBE, director of Global Programmes at the CEA said, “We strongly believes in the benefits for exhibitors in running a high profile UK Pavilion at exhibitions like EXPONOR – where small stands can easily become lost amidst the other exhibitors.
Exhibiting on your own at a show in Chile is not only daunting, but very time consuming and can be incredibly frustrating to organise from a distance, tying your staff up in red tape for months when they could be out selling. The CEA can offer companies the option to book cost effective fully managed, fitted turnkey shell scheme stands at EXPONOR 2015. The UK Group comprises all UK Companies.”

Why Chile?

Chile is currently one of the major mining powers in the world, having huge reserves of copper, lithium, iodine, gold, silver, molybdenum, and natural nitrates among other metallic and non-metallic minerals throughout its territory. These huge natural resources enable it to be a world leader in the production of copper, molybdenum, silver, gold, lithium, iodine, and natural nitrates.
In the case of copper, Chile is the leading producer of this metal on the planet, in 2012 achieving a production total of 5,433 KTMF, representing 31.8% of the world total, while also having five of the biggest mines of this type in the world, with operations from the major mining companies such as BHP Billiton, Barrick, GlencoreXstrata, AngloAmerican, Freeport-McMoran Copper & Gold, Antofagasta Minerals, SQM and the national state company, Codelco, among others. According to the most recent census from Cochilco, the mining investment portfolio up to 2021 will reach US$ 112,000 million.

Why Antofagasta? The mining capital of Chile

The Region of Antofagasta is the main mining centre of Chile, responsible for 54% of domestic copper production, as well as 100% of the production of lithium carbonate, lithium chloride, lithium hydroxide, and potassium compounds, among others.
In addition, the region generates 18% of world production of fine copper, as well as making an important contribution to the world production of other metallic and non-metallic metals. All of this transforms mining into the engine that generates regional growth, creating strong development in the shipping/port, energy, road, construction, and business sectors among others, all within the framework of a mining cluster policy that provides the basis not only for improvement in competitiveness in the industry, but also for the sustainability of the community.

The International Mining Industry Exhibition, Exponor, takes place every two years in the Region of Antofagasta, an area which is the mining centre of Chile producing 54% of copper at national level, and 16% of global copper production, as well as being a leader in the production of other metallic and non-metallic minerals. Exponor is the meeting point for mining in the Americas, with a project portfolio of US$17 million in 2015.

The Exponor experience includes:

  • Technology tours to mine sites
  • Business meetings with mining executives
  • Seminars on investment projects and technical lectures
  • Visits to the exhibition from mining company delegations and suppliers
  • International workshops with foreign mining executives.
  • Networking between exhibitors at national and international pavilions.
