AEM announces exhibition staff leadership updates
The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) announces a new CONEXPO-CON/AGG staff show director and related updates, as it promotes from within a strong staff for its roster of industry-leading trade exhibitions.
Sara Truesdale Mooney has been named CONEXPO-CON/AGG show director, managing AEM’s flagship exposition. Mooney is AEM senior director exhibitions and strategy; she also serves as show director for ICUEE-The Demo Expo and as exhibitions lead for AEM’s agriculture sector.
Mooney takes over day-to-day CONEXPO-CON/AGG planning responsibilities from Megan Tanel, AEM vice president exhibition & events, as Tanel focuses on expanded strategy and planning duties for the association’s growing portfolio of trade shows, meetings and events. Tanel is also a member of the AEM senior management team and is 2015 chair of the IAEE International Association of Exhibitions and Events.
Melissa Magestro has assumed lead staff liaison responsibilities for AEM’s international exhibitions, including CONEXPO Latin America, which launches in 2015 in Santiago, Chile. Magestro is AEM senior director exhibitions and heads up AEM exhibit and sponsorship sales; she also serves as IFPE show director.
In addition to CONEXPO Latin America, AEM’s international show presence includes bC India and bauma CONEXPO Africa.
And, Rich Prausa continues to serve as AEM staff lead and show manager for World of Asphalt Show & Conference and AGG1 Aggregates Academy & Expo while realigning his role within the association’s events services department to take on more responsibilities. He is AEM event services manager.
“One of the ways we develop staff depth is through opportunities for career advancement throughout AEM and an emphasis on staff training,” stated Tanel. “The result is a staff that develops a strong knowledge base of our members’ industries to better serve member interests. And many of our events staff are recognized as subject matter experts, offering best-practices insights at exhibition industry educational events.
AEM organizes trade shows as well as meetings and events as a key business-development service for association members and the off-road equipment industry. AEM shows are industry-run in which participants have a voice in show planning, industry partnerships enhance value, costs are carefully monitored and revenues go back into industry services.
