Neumuenster. Digitalisation in the construction industry is making strides, offers great efficiency potential and at the same time provides many construction personnel with future-oriented tasks. This year’s NordBau (September 13 to 17, 2017, Holstenhallen, Neumuenster) wants to make the Building Information Modelling (BIM) a real highlight of the exhibition.
Another focus is “Green to the City”. Additionally, Northern Europe’s largest compact construction exhibition once more offers the overall overview of the innovations of the construction machinery market, construction materials and energy technology.
Dr. Wolfgang Bayer, Chief Executive Officer of the Bauindustrieverband Niedersachsen-Bremen e.V. (Construction Industry Association), recognises a large difference in regards to the digitisation process: Companies are already using the detailed digital 3-D planning BIM in co-operation with internationally established construction companies. Particularly, small and medium sized construction companies recognize the advantages of digitalisation. “Many procedures in the process chain like purchasing, accounting and inventory management are now digitised. The biggest challenge is the interface problem: the various degrees of digitisation and software compatibility among customers and suppliers. The interface issue is a big but solvable task,” says Bayer.
At the NordBau, the aim is to show builders, planners, architects, hand workers and building managers the advantages that BIM offers and the best way to meet the technical challenges. The digitisation of the construction equipment, construction processes, planning and the digital tools for hand workers should be presented plastic and “for touching”.
Another focus of the NordBau 2017 is the greening of the cities. The Fachverbände Garten-, Landschafts- und Sportplatzbau von Schleswig-Holstein und Hamburg (Galabau) (professional associations of garden, landscape and sports field construction of Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg (Galabau)) would like to focus on the following topics in co-operation with other partners: the sustainable management of green areas, the green design of inner courtyards, tree planting in times of climate change and the trends urban and vertical gardening, i.e. gardening in the city and on the house facade or in the courtyard.
“The NordBau is also a meeting-place for builders, planners and architects with a great understanding of green urban development. That’s why we are pleased to be partnering with the topic “Green to the City”, says Galabau Managing Director Achim Meierewert. German planners and architects will also exchange ideas with Danish colleagues at NordBau on this topic. Denmark has been a partner for over forty years.
“Comprehensive information on the current topics of the construction industry and the possibility of a sound exchange among colleagues on an international level: That is what our exhibitors provide every year and that is why NordBau is Northern Europe’s comprehensive exhibition for construction,” says Dirk Iwersen, Managing Director of Holstenhallen Neunmünster GmbH .
As every year, NordBau is once again focusing on all the trends and innovations in the field of construction machinery. The popular meeting place “Bauleiter & Poliere” (Site manager & Foreman), the extensive training and further education offer and the nordjob-Bau-Infotag for the trainees are once more offered. NordBau has been the meeting place for Northern Europe’s construction industry and all construction managers for more than six decades.
