Samoter: Construction Machinery Exports Up

Exports in the first nine months of 2019 came to more than €2.24 billion (+1.9%)
Verona 19 December 2019 – Construction machinery exports grew by 1.9% in the first nine months of 2019. This is the snapshot provided by the international trade report – analysis of Istat data by the SaMoTer-Prometeia Outlook that monitors Italy’s import/export flows in the construction equipment sector. This is a very useful tool for companies attending SaMoTer, the International Construction Equipment Trade Fair scheduled 21-25 March 2020 in Verona, to keep up to date with market trends and future prospects.

The survey indicates that exports in the period January-September 2019 improved to 2.24 billion euros, compared to 2.19 billions in the same period 2018. This increase was associated in particular with exports of concrete machines, which posted +15.8% for a total of 246.63 million euros, and aggregate preparation machinery, with exports of 422.66 million (+9.9%).

India (96.5%) and Europe as a whole were among the areas that increased their imports from Italy: earthmoving machinery and equipment, as well as road machinery, while concrete machinery also posted strong growth in European countries (around +20%) and North Africa (+49.2%).
The first three quarters of 2019 also saw Italian imports of construction machinery grow significantly to 802.14 million euros, compared to 714.25 million in 2018 (+12.3%).
