steinexpo 2011 – Construction machinery with catwalk effect

Patiently working away and performing at consistent capacity. This is the everyday life of a piece of construction machinery. A modern construction machinery demonstration can follow this example – but it doesn’t have to. That the new models will cope well with professional company, was the mutual opinion of the steinexpo organisers and the manufacturing companies. So for the first time this year a moderator will be in action at the communal demonstration at the stone quarry demonstration exhibition in Nieder-Ofleiden.
Construction machinery of ten different manufacturers will be in action on around 22,000 m² of the “fairground” in the MHI Nieder-Ofleiden stone quarry. The demonstrations are held every 30 minutes at three different loading stations, with, in addition, a practical reloading demonstration at one of the loading stations. While the technical planning team of the Institute of Mining of the Technical University of Clausthal coordinates the technical processes, so that these can hold their own in the trained eyes of the experts – regularly more than 90% of the steinexpo visitors – the show concept develops concurrently with music and moderation.
All items finally merge into a uniform choreography. We have acquired the talents of Raoul Helmer as moderator. His presentations are not only known from Hessian Radio. Helmer has shown at various shows where construction machinery are demonstrated that he has mastered the art of infotainment, providing spectators with excellent information and entertaining them at the same time. Encouraged by the positive feedback from this rugged and sincere industry, he has accepted the steinexpo opportunity with pleasure. The proceedings are planned such that the moderator will present the machinery together with a representative of the brand while emphasising the special properties in interview style and so draw the visitors’ attention to specific important features. The steinexpo trade fair director, Dr. Friedhelm Rese is proud to announce yet another new feature of this special exhibition to visitors as well as exhibitors: “I don’t want to imply that the steinexpo has reached maturity with this 8th event. Only in terms of its concept, the trade fair is still a special event that appeals to trade visitors in particular. Nevertheless, the integration of new elements that will showcase the exhibits of the manufacturers even better is always in our minds. The entertainment value of heavy engineering in action cannot be ignored. I am pleased that we can offer both this time in such close interaction. In addition, the way it’s presented will of course encourage other manufacturers to also put something special together to garner visitors’ favour. This effect ultimately benefits all exhibitors and the trade fair as a whole.” Everything happening at steinexpo 2011 will also for the first time be seen on Web TV. As official media partner, Bauforum24 TV will report directly from the fairgrounds every day with news, reviews and product information. The broadcasts with interviews and reports on new products and industry news are produced on site in the trade fair studio. As usual, all broadcasts can be viewed around the clock on www.bauforum24.tv. Smartphone users can also get it as podcasts on iPhone, BlackBerry and Co.

steinexpo: As the biggest and most significant stone quarry demonstration exhibition on the European continent, the steinexpo had its premiere in the Niederofleiden stone quarry in September 1990. The trade fair is held in a three-year cycle. By means of impressive live demonstrations against the backdrop of a magnificent stone quarry, manufacturers and dealers of building and processing machinery, utility vehicles and heavy vehicles as well as plants for reclamation and treatment of materials put their service performance on display. The recycling of mineral building materials represents another focus point. The steinexpo is organised by Geoplan GMBH, Iffezheim, Germany.
