The mission also includes an important government delegation
SamoterFor the first time, Unido – the special agency of the United Nations promoting economic and industrial development – is bringing delegation of Iraqi entrepreneurs to Samoter. They will be joined by a government delegation under the Iraqi Vice Minister for Industry and Minerals, Adel Kareem, including among others a director of Nassyria Chamber of Commerce and the Minister for Industry of Kurdistan Governorate. Twenty-six small-medium companies, 9 of which assisted directly by Unido, will attend the Veronese event with the objective of creating stable business relationships and partnerships with companies in the sector as well as to purchase specific machinery. In this context, the programme of the visit, backed up in Verona by Unido officials providing language and technical assistance, also envisages a series of specifically organised B2B meetings. The Kurd-Iraqi companies come from the Kurdistan, Baghdad and Thi Quar governorates. Attendance by Iraqi operators is also particularly interesting for companies exhibiting at Samoter as a way for identifying possible dealers or representatives in Iraq, an interesting market still difficult to access that requires on the spot people having direct knowledge of the local situation.
