Crowded aisles and tremendous energy at industry gathering place
The 2012 World of Asphalt Show & Conference and AGG1 Aggregates Forum & Expo opened Tuesday, March 13 with enthusiastic crowds and plenty of interaction on the show floor and in the classroom education sessions. There was a very positive vibe as attendees and exhibitors conducted business and discussed issues affecting future industry growth, such as the highway bill.
Onsite as of Day 2 mid-morning, the shows had:
Record number of registered attendees – more than 6,100 industry professionals
Record amount of exhibit space – a 30-percent increase for a total of more than 115,000 net square feet
Record number of exhibitors – 408 – displaying the latest technologies and products
Near-record number of education session tickets – more than 6,000 – purchased by attendees for the shows’ signature education programs
“Attendees tell us they are here to get up to speed on the latest ‘best practices’ that will drive growth in tomorrow’s economy. They know they can conveniently connect with peers and industry experts and examine all the products that will increase job efficiency and productivity,” stated Show Director Melissa Magestro.
“Exhibitors are commenting very favorably on the number and quality of customer contacts and the sales activity on the show floor. World of Asphalt and AGG1 offer real value in cost-effectively bringing together buyers and sellers,” Magestro added.
World of Asphalt and AGG1 focus on the business needs of aggregates, asphalt, pavement maintenance and traffic safety industry professionals.
