The first Asian and 9th Iranian Tunneling Symposium, Underground Space for Sustainable Development will be held on 31st October to 3rd November 2011 in Tehran, conference hall of Olympic Hotel, hosted by Iranian tunneling association with the support of International Tunneling Association (ITA) and co organized with IICIC. This Symposium aims to focus on utilization of the most recent tunneling and underground space technologies for nations seeking sustainable development.
This Symposium will facilitate exchange of knowledge, latest tunneling technologies and active participation of those involved in the tunneling industry with main objectives of design, construction and operation, considering the importance of underground spaces on sustainable development and environment.
The topics of the Symposium include but are not limited to the following:
1- Research and development
2- Identification and design criteria
3- Underground space construction technologies
4- Financial, contractual and managerial issues in underground projects
