Maskinexpo Stockholm – Machines in action

Most trade fairs are indoor events, but Maskinexpo is a bit different. Held at STOXA, Stockholm Outdoor Exhibition Area, it’s a hands-on festival of plant and construction vehicles. Maskinexpo 2015, running from 28-30 May, will be the third year the event has been held at this venue and the first two were great successes. This year’s looks like being even better.
Maskinexpo is Scandinavia’s leading exhibition of construction machinery, bringing in exhibitors from around the world as well as being the event of the year for Sweden’s own industry. For the 2015 show, as well as local firms, there will be equipment from Spain, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Japan. The range of products runs from power tools right up to earth moving and lifting equipment, plus a full selection of accessories and support equipment. If it’s used in construction the chances are you’ll find it at Maskinexpo.

This year Maskinexpo will have even more on display than ever. As well as construction plant the exhibits will include farming and forestry machinery, landscaping equipment and light commercial vehicles. If you work outdoors and use machinery this is the place to see it – and you’ll be seeing it in its natural environment, too. STOXA exhibits aren’t just standing, gleaming, in an exhibition hall.

For Maskinexpo the show ground is transformed into a varied environment, with grass, gravel, mud and rocky patches. You get to see all the machinery in action, moving and working under realistic conditions. There’s no better way to get an idea of its real capabilities. You’ll find a demo area and two test tracks where you can watch equipment being put through its paces, as well as the chance to ask questions about products – you might even get a practical demonstration of the answer! When you want a break there are restaurants, BBQ areas and even a Segway challenge.

Entrance to Maskinexpo is free with online registration; just sign up at the event website. The exhibition ground is easy to get to from Arlanda airport and is convenient for Stockholm hotels and amenities. More than 21,000 people visited last year’s Maskinexpo and the 2015 event should be even bigger. Anyone who’s in the market for construction plant should have this down as a don’t miss occasion; it’s an unbeatable chance to see machinery doing its job in a real-world environment, and to get up to date on the latest developments.
