Neumünster. Germany will be investing heavily in infrastructures in the coming years. The Deutsche Bahn’s railway network will also be rebuilt and expanded. At the NordBau of 2017 (13 to 17 September 2017, Holstenhallen Neumünster) DB Netz AG will present on how the construction industry can be integrated into the planned construction measures.
At the fair, DB Netz AG will focus on four major infrastructural projects: The railway connection of the planned Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link that crosses from the German island of Fehmarn to the Danish island of Lolland on the Puttgarden-Lübeck route in Schleswig-Holstein, the expansion of the railway line between Oldenburg and Wilhelmshaven in Lower Saxony, the relocation of Fernbahnhof (long-distance railway station) Hamburg-Altona, and the new construction of the S-Bahn line, S4, in the Hamburg metropolitan region.
These projects are already in the planning phase or are promptly advancing. Deutsche Bahn is in search of experienced and reliable companies from the construction industry, for the implementation of these building projects. Companies that are prequalified can apply for participation in the infrastructural measures. Small and medium-sized construction companies that are interested in Deutsche Bahn’s orders can find out about the prequalification procedure from the railway experts, DB Netz AG, at NordBau, at the stand in Forum Hall 1. They provide information on the work required for the individual projects in the coming years. In addition, DB Netz AG’s training and career offer will be presented.
Project manager Bernd Homfeldt is looking forward to the exchange with the companies at NordBau: “Our large-scale projects in the north are a huge investment in infrastructure; this equally means a lot of contracts for the regional companies. At the NordBau, we want to give information about the extent of the upcoming construction measures, and the prequalification and award procedure at DB Netz AG.”
Deutsche Bahn is also participating in this year’s exhibition that focuses on the digitalization of the “Building Information Modeling” (BIM): A visual insight into the possibilities of use within the framework of the project of a new crossing at the Fehmarnsund, will be given to trade fair visitors through virtual reality glasses.
Another major focus of the 2017 NordBau is the theme “Green to the City”. The main focus here is on the advantages of the inner city greening measures. An exhibition on all the novelties in the construction machinery market, the meeting point for “Site managers and foremen “, as well as a wide range of further education and training offer, which will round off the trade fair offer in 2017.
