TeCobI Eco, a forum that will discuss “green” solutions for commercial, industrial, sport and residential construction covers will be one of the event’s highlights.
Quartier Feiras, which organizes the Brazil Road Expo, presents its new event, TeCobI Expo, which will be held June 18-20, 2012, at the Expo Center Norte Yellow Pavilion, in São Paulo. The event is comprised of a business trade show and an international congress. It is geared towards the civil construction market, specifically the roofing, roof covers, slabs and waterproofing sectors.
The event will gather 150 manufacturers and distributors of the latest trends and technologies for the segment, applicable to construction, maintenance and repair. There will be a total of 10 thousand m² of expo area with novelties in equipment, products and services such as tiles, structures, accessories, fixation products, waterproofing products, slabs, special paints, etc.
The target public for the event is all professionals and companies tied to residential, commercial, industrial and sport constructions, such as engineers, architects, contractors, builders, as well as resellers and distributors of products and equipment and service providers.
“TeCobI Expo follows the trend of segmented events that permit exhibiting companies as well as the visiting public, to build and maintain assertive networking, putting those who want to sell and those who want to buy face to face,” underscores the superintendent of Quartier Feiras, Aldair Colombo.
Conference Schedule
The event will include the TeCobI Summit, a conference program with seminars on themes such as Structures; Waterproofing (under the coordination of IBI – Brazilian Institute of Waterproofing); Controlled Use of Asbestos; Covers for Sports Complexes (with case studies and the presentation of proposals for the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games); among others.
One of the highlights at the event will be TeCobI Eco, a forum that will discuss innovative and environmentally correct solutions such as ecological roofing tiles and technologies for solar energy (photovoltaic), geothermal and wind energy use, among others, which will be applied to construction roofing.
Another topic on the TeCobl Eco agenda is the role of interventions in roofing and roof covers for reducing global warming and improving the quality of life, especially in large urban centers. Examples include green roofing and programs such as ‘One Degree Less’. Promoted in the country by the Green Building Council Brazil, this initiative proposes making or painting all roofing and roof covers white. According to scientific studies released by the GBC, every 100 m² of painted roof area compensates 10t of CO2 emissions.
Situation: Civil Construction
Launch of the TeCobl Expo has the constant growth of the civil construction industry as a backdrop. With the pace being dictated by the real estate and infrastructure sectors, it should grow 6% this year. This projection, by Sinduscon-SP – Civil Construction Industry Union of the State of São Paulo, is higher than the estimated 5% growth in Brazil’s GDP for 2011.
“Brazil has a combination of factors that favor investments, such as economic stability, accelerated growth and most of all, a strategic development project that goes beyond the approaching sports events,” underscores the commercial director for Quartier Feiras, Guilherme Ramos.
And the executive is right. Besides the nearly R$ 100 billion in investments for the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games, by 2014, the federal government alone will invest R$ 955 billion in the second phase of the PAC – Growth Acceleration Program and another R$ 71.7 billion in the second phase of the ‘My Home, My Life’ Program, which will enable construction of 2 million dwellings.
